Description & History

The mission of Global Gardens is to empower students in low-income communities to become agents of change through hands-on science and peace education. Helping students create a garden is a way not only to assist them in learning about science, health and the enviornment, but also to challenge them to become caring, forward-thinking and confident individuals.

We accomplish our mission through:

1. During-school programming that supports state science standards and inspires active learning.

2. After-school and summer programs that help students build skills and connections.

3. Community gardens that strengthen families and increase food security.
